About

Ranya Iyer is a powerhouse. An artist, songwriter, music producer, and feminine embodiment practitioner with more than a decade of experience and an unstoppable ambition to become a global leader, Ranya is paving the way for South Asian females in the international music industry. Born and raised in Singapore, Ranya’s musical journey began at just eight years old as a student at The Vocal Studio back in 2010. She went on to lead her choir as Soprano Leader at TJC before pursuing a degree in Pop Music Performance at Lasalle College of the Arts. She completed her studies at Falmouth University in England, where she graduated with Honours in Vocal Performance, Songwriting & Popular Music in 2024.

Experience

Ranya has immersed herself in both Eastern and Western music scenes, growing up in Singapore while gaining invaluable industry experience in London. She honed her music business expertise as an intern at Safo Music Group in North London, where she connected with artists, musicians, and vocalists from around the world.

Her performance career began with gigs at iconic Singaporean venues like the Esplanade Annexe Studio and Hard Rock Café. In her final year of university, she founded the band Arrivederci, blending her original dark-pop sound with legendary rock covers like Dreams by The Cranberries and Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. One of her most cherished experiences was being featured in British artist RAYE’s Genesis music video, further refining her performative presence and artistry.

In April 2025, Ranya took on the role as co-lead for We Make Noise Singapore, the SG chapter of a global non-profit organization committed to advancing gender equity in music and technology. Being in charge of creative direction and output, she has dedicated her passion to hosting integral conversations within the local music scene and strengthening music as a viable career option in Singapore.

Ranya is a frequent performer in the music scene, with her most recent public performance at the Bay Area for NDP SG60 celebrations.

Approach

As a vocal coach, Ranya takes a holistic approach—going beyond technique to understand each student’s goals, aspirations, and internal challenges. Her lessons focus on deep vocal study, integrating somatic awareness to unlock each singer’s full potential. Ranya strongly believes in the body as an instrument and refines her own practice by utilising embodiment practices as tools towards vocal expansion. Specializing in pop, rock, ballads, and musical theatre, Ranya combines traditional vocal techniques with speech-level singing pedagogy. Trained under renowned vocalist Sara Wee of 53A, Ranya empowers students to discover their unique vocal identity while building confidence and artistry.

Apart from TVS, Ranya is a feminine embodiment coach, with her own burgeoning business, As I Awaken. She creates safe spaces for women to come together to open their heart and connect to their own soul intelligence beyond societal conditioning. Ranya is on a path towards extending non-judgment, safety, and a space for students to bloom in her presence one session at a time. Inspired by her own sensitivity to lead through her voice, she journeys towards bridging the gap between her artistry and embodied leadership.
