About

Ranya Iyer is a powerhouse. An artist, songwriter, music producer, and feminine embodiment practitioner. Ranya is paving the way for South Asian females in the international music industry. Ranya’s musical journey began at eight years old as a student at The Vocal Studio back in 2010. She went on to lead her choir as Soprano Leader at TJC before pursuing a degree in Pop Music Performance at Lasalle College of the Arts. She completed her studies at Falmouth University in England, where she graduated with Honours in Vocal Performance, Songwriting & Popular Music in 2024.

Experience

Growing up in Singapore and spending time in London, Ranya has been immersed in both Eastern and Western music communities. During her internship at Safo Music Group in North London, she gained valuable insight into the music industry while collaborating with artists, musicians, and vocalists from diverse backgrounds.

As a performer, she has appeared at venues including the Esplanade Annexe Studio and Hard Rock Café, and founded her own band, Arrivederci, where she explored original dark-pop music alongside iconic rock repertoire. She was also featured in British artist RAYE's Genesis music video, further developing her stagecraft and artistic presence.

In 2025, Ranya became Co-Lead of We Make Noise Singapore, the local chapter of a global non-profit organisation championing gender equity in music and technology. Through this role, she contributes to nurturing Singapore's music community by creating opportunities, facilitating conversations, and supporting emerging artists.

An active performer, Ranya continues to share her music on stages across Singapore, most recently performing at the Bay Area during the SG60 National Day celebrations. Her experience as both an independent artist and collaborative musician allows her to guide students not only in singing, but also in musicianship, performance, creativity, and artistic growth.

Approach

As a vocal coach, Ranya takes a holistic approach—going beyond technique to understand each student’s goals, aspirations, and internal challenges. Her lessons focus on deep vocal study, integrating somatic awareness to unlock each singer’s full potential. Ranya strongly believes in the body as an instrument and refines her own practice by utilising embodiment practices as tools towards vocal expansion. Specializing in pop, rock, ballads, and musical theatre, Ranya combines traditional vocal techniques with speech-level singing pedagogy. Trained under renowned vocalist Sara Wee of 53A, Ranya empowers students to discover their unique vocal identity while building confidence and artistry.
