About
Rowena is a musical theatre performer and vocal coach with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre from LASALLE College of the Arts. Specializing in pop and musical theatre, her artistry has been shaped by icons such as Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, Lea Salonga, Jessie Mueller, and more. With her strong musical theatre background, Rowena emphasizes the importance of artistry and storytelling, using the voice as a powerful medium for expression.
Experience
Rowena has performed in a variety of plays and musicals, including Three Years in the Life and Death of Land by The Necessary Stage (directed by Haresh Sharma), Adventures with Andi by Howdrama, and Superhawker Me by The Chewy Collective. Rowena is also part of a A Mouthful Productions, a theatre collective dedicated to storytelling through food and music. The group’s cabaret, Where’s The Rice?, was featured in the 2022 Musical Theatre Fringe Festival organized by SingTheatre.
Approach
Her deep interest in singing and vocal pedagogy has led Rowena to become a vocal coach. She believes that everyone has the potential to sing, regardless of their starting point, and her mission is to help her students discover and embrace their unique voices. Rowena places a strong emphasis on vocal health, and she strives to foster sustainable singing habits that allow her students to explore a wide range of vocal possibilities while maintaining safety and comfort. By blending technique with storytelling, Rowena empowers her students to connect emotionally with their performances, unlocking their full vocal potential and enabling them to sing with freedom, authenticity, and joy.
