1. Objective

A. Understanding the characteristics of core genres that form the basis of popular music and their vocal techniques. 

B. Transform as knowledgeable and aspiring singers and performers, by learning and applying the insight learned during this course.

  Students will learn how to apply the following skills :

✓ Singing on a stage

✓ The fundamentals of stage performance 

✓ The singing voice and how does one uses the singing voice with/without a microphone

✓ Confidence when performing live and for audiences

✓ Communication with the band 

✓ Mastering 2 songs as specialising genres

✓ Vocal style and techniques for various genres

2. Who is this for?

• The course is suitable for people who already have a good foundation in singing and would like to advance their knowledge and experience as a singer and performer. 

• The maximum intake number of students is 10 pax

• You are free to sign up to express your interest first, there will be an interview / audition session upon registration to understand the student better as well as check the suitability of the course for the student.

3. Format, curriculum

The course will be run in a dynamic combination of lectures and vocal coaching sessions, as well as live performance sessions and actual performance at the end of the course. Each student will enjoy a community experience of growing together as well as developing personal identity as singers.

1. GROUP LECTURES: Regular group lectures with vocal specialists for theory, experience sharing, and provision of vocal coaching through the masterclass.

2. LIVE PERFORMANCE SESSIONS: Regular performance sessions with the professional sessionists and feedback from coaches.

3. INDIVIDUAL COACHING: Individualised guide to provide in-depth knowledge and guide for each student for preparing a final performance.

4. REHEARSAL & FINAL PERFORMANCE: Rehearsal sessions for each students performance and showcase of 1 set of performance in front of the audience.

5. COMPLETION and EVALUATION: Course evaluation and provision of the certificate. (Students MUST attend 80% of the classes/individual sessions, and complete the live performance in order to receive the certificate for the completion of the course.

** Group classes can be converted to online classes in case of the physical class restriction, and live performance sessions can shift to an ‘individual slot’ for performance

• GROUP LECTURES: Saturdays 6:30pm-8:00pm

• LOCATION: Tiny Mighty Studio & The Vocal Studio
