About
Hydir Idris is a Singaporean singer-songwriter who holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music, majored in Contemporary/PopVocals. His talent was spotted through televised singing competitions such as Anugerah from Mediacorp Suria and The Final 1 SG from Mediacorp channel 5 as early as 17 years old, where he was known as “the boy with the big voice..”
In College University, Hydir trained under Singapore Idol Vocal Coach Babes Conde and was mentored by acclaimed Emmy-nominated American composer, producer and educator, Dr. Joseph Curiale in PopBand Performance, Music Production and Music Business.
Regionally, Hydir has also collaborated with renowned composers and producers across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia and has contributed to local arts and media as a Vocal Producer for Mediacorp Eaglevision, supporting aspiring singers across two televised seasons.
Experience
As an arts educator, Hydir completed the course ‘Essentials of Teaching and Learning’ certified by National Institution of Education(NIE) with prior experience teaching music and movement, speech and drama across preschool, primary and secondary levels.
His dedication to artistry spans performance, songwriting, recording and vocal coaching, with originally composed and written music works featured on local radio and television since 2010. From grassroots community stages to Esplanade Theatres and Mediacorp Suria, Hydir’s journey is rooted in personal growth and self-expression.
Hydir’s early days in singing involves primary and secondary school co-curricular activities such as traditional singing in Dikir Barat, spiritual group singing and public competitions, where he consistently won top 3 best lead vocalist and singer, before building his dreams as solo artiste. Approach
Hydir believes effortless singing is a result of proper vocal technique and mindful singing. His coaching is customised and rooted in speech-based principles which has helped singers improve breath control, resonance, reduce strain and expand range. At the same time, he encourages personal expression and emotional connection that is meaningful for each singer through singing their favourite songs.
