About
Hydir Idris is a Singaporean singer-songwriter who holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music, majored in Contemporary/PopVocals. His talent was spotted through televised singing competitions such as Anugerah from Mediacorp Suria and The Final 1 SG from Mediacorp channel 5 as early as 17 years old, where he was known as “the boy with the big voice..”
Regionally, Hydir has also collaborated with renowned composers and producers across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia and has contributed to local arts and media as a Vocal Producer for Mediacorp Eaglevision team, supporting aspiring singers across televised seasons.
In College University, Hydir trained under Singapore Idol Vocal Coach Babes Conde and was mentored by acclaimed Emmy-nominated American composer, producer and educator, Dr. Joseph Curiale in PopBand Performance, Music Production and Music Business.
Experience
Hydir’s early days in singing involves primary and secondary school co-curricular activities such as traditional singing in Dikir Barat and singing competitions, where he consistently won top 3 best lead vocalist and singer, before building his dreams as solo local artiste (Read more).
As an arts educator, Hydir has prior experience teaching music and movement, speech and drama across preschool, primary and secondary levels. He completed the course ‘Essentials of Teaching and Learning’ certified by National Institution of Education(NIE).
His dedication to artistry spans performance, songwriting, vocal recording and vocal coaching, with originally composed and written music works featured on local radio and television since 2010. From grassroots community stages to Esplanade Theatres and Mediacorp Suria, Hydir’s journey is rooted in personal growth and self-expression.
Approach
Hydir’s coaching adapts to each singer’s voice with an emphasis on mindful practice, building vocal ease, expanding vocal range and song application in genres of pop/rock, R&b and popballads.
At the heart of his approach is emotional connection and delivery, helping singers make artistic choices and sing with greater expression.
