Open Mic/Jam Session Places in SG [2023 MARCH]
Are you looking for a place, an open space where you can show the love for singing with more people?
Being on the stage can be nervous, but when done with other musicians and backed by delish food and crowd support - it can become a thrilling fun experience!
Here are some of the places that you can check out.
1. LowerCase Café (Indie, pop artist, public friendly music)
Do you remember the cozy space that we hosted 2022 Dec End of Year Performance Day? LowerCase at Lasalle College of Arts is a space for aspiring artists to showcase their talent with the café visitors! You can prepare a setlist of several songs and simply contact the team to opt for a performance of yours. The supportive team will help you to throw a successful show!
Here is some more information that you might want to ask to the Lowercase Team.
1) Days(or Dates), timing for open mic?
Mon-Sat 6-8pm (unless we're booked for a private event); need at least 2 weeks advance notice.
2) Do singers need to pre-register/ is there a participation fee?
They need to inform us at least 2 weeks in advance. If possible, send us any clip of their performance.
If it's approved, they can send us a short write up on their band/singer + photo/social account tag.
We will also help to promote them on our socials.
Performers can choose how long they would like their set to be (usually 30mins / 1 hour)
3) Do you provide any accompaniment or do singers have to prepare?
Our open-mic is basically an open stage; singers have to prepare their own backing tracks / musician accompaniment. We do have some instruments inhouse for them to use if they'd like!
4) Restrictions or preference on the genre/ style of music?
Their set should include public friendly songs (nothing too explicit / overtly religious)
5) Extra comments/ words?
As a small token to say thank you to all performers, drinks are on the house!
2. Blu Jaz Cafe (Jazz and More)

Sundays @3F The JazzLoft
Jazz Loft is “a space dedicated to representing jazz and improvised music as an evolving art form in Singapore - both homegrown, and imported.”
And the events held at the Jazz Loft are really of inspiring spirit and quality. Many talented musicians as well as aspiring Jazz students of many instruments gather here on Sundays with a great support of the host musicians!
Just come at their doorstep, and they’ll welcome you with open heart – a jazzy night with cool people awaits you there!
3. Sing Theatre (Musical Theatre)
A musical lover’s must visit occasion! Sing-theatre is a home for many local theatre musical production as well as school for teaching musical theatre for children and adults. They occasionally hold regular open mic sessions dedicated SOLEY for the theatre!
If you have been singing acting Disney Musical, Broadway, Westend Numbers in front of mirrors, now you can show your talents on the stage they hold.

4. Warmup Café (Thai)
Warmup Café literally warms your heart with its tasty spicy Thaifood! (Who doesn’t love Thai Food) It’s also one of few spaces where you can enjoy the Thai music. Every Wednesday is the live music session, and you will be welcomed to the stage to sing a song with the homely acoustic pop band!

5. Molly (Rock, pop)
Molly is Singapore’s First Irish Pub opened in 1995! Great history, great food and music is what awaits you. Below desciption is taken directly from the website 😊
Every Saturday is Open Mic / Jam Night at Molly’s – where all musician are welcomed! It couldn’t be easier - just come down, introduce yourself to the host for the evening, and request that they get you on stage for a couple of numbers. Drum kit and bass amp are available, and there are usually a few acoustic guitars on hand, but do bring down your own instruments where necessary.
